Function:
The State Banking Board considers appeals from certain decisions made by the Commissioner of Finance respecting the chartering of new banks, the approval or disapproval of branches for banks or the relocation of banks or branches. The board also must approve all regulations pertaining to banks promulgated by the Commissioner of Finance.

Compensation: Members receive a per diem not to exceed $100 for each day devoted to the affairs of the board.
Member Requirements: 1 member must be an attorney; 2 members must have at least 5 years active bank management experience; 1 member shall have had at least 5 years of active management experience in this state of one or more associations as defined in chapter 369 (Savings and Loans); 1 member shall be an individual who is not involved in the administration of a financial institution.
