Mission:
The mission of the MO HealthNet Drug Utilization Review Board (DUR) is to enhance the quality of evidence-based, clinically appropriate and fiscally responsible patient care for Missouri's most vulnerable citizens using: 1) Evidence-based clinical information and established quality measures;
2) Prospective and retrospective analysis of drug therapies and patient care to encourage positive patient outcomes; 3) Targeted health care provider education centered around appropriate patient
care and drug therapy.
Function:
The Drug Utilization Review Board advises the MO HealthNet Division and provides educational outreach (both general and patient-specific information) on drug therapy to improve prescribing and dispensing practices for MO HealthNet participants. DUR is an information sharing program, not a punitive program. DUR provides information to physicians and pharmacies to assist with the continued evaluation and management of the patient's pharmaceutical requirements.
