Mission:
The Labor and Industrial Relations Commission is the highest administrative appellate body, reviewing workers' compensation, unemployment compensation, crime victims' compensation and tort victims compensation cases. The Commission conducts evidentiary hearings pertaining to prevailing wage objections to the general and annual wage orders. In connection with appellate duties, the Commission holds hearings and issues written opinions, which are subject to review by the Supreme Court and courts of lesser appellate jurisdiction. The Commission approves all administrative rules under which the Department of Labor and its agencies operate (except the Commission on Human Rights).

Member Requirements: 1 member must be an employee representative, 1 must be an employer representative, and 1 must be an attorney representing the public; the Governor designates one of these as chair

Geographic Requirements: yes, members must have resided in Missouri for 5 years immediately preceding appointment
